About Us

Fojill Guitar® was founded in 2022 by a group of passionate musicians and luthiers with a shared vision – to make high-quality, affordable electric guitars and basses accessible to all.

Headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, the heart of American music, our team of experienced craftsmen and women hand-make every Fojill Guitar® instrument in our workshop, paying meticulous attention to detail. We use only the finest materials such as premium tonewoods like alder, mahogany and maple, combined with high-quality hardware from trusted brands.

The result is a range of reliable, great-sounding electric guitars and basses that Punch well above their weight without the premium price tag. Whether you’re a beginner or seasoned musician, you can depend on Fojill Guitar® to deliver an inspiring instrument to fuel your musical creativity.

Our Story

Fojill Guitar® was founded in 2022 by a small group of luthiers and musicians who shared a common frustration – the rising costs of quality electric guitars and basses. Even basic, mass-produced instruments were becoming prohibitively expensive for beginners and working musicians.

We firmly believe that price shouldn’t be a barrier to making great music. With decades of combined luthiery experience under our belts, we knew it was possible to build great-quality guitars and basses right here in the USA – if we cut out the middlemen and sold directly to you online.

And so, Fojill Guitar® was born. Our workshop opened right here in Music City USA, where we set out on a mission to put inspiring, reliable electric guitars and basses into the hands of all players.

Our Values

We’re driven by a few core values that guide everything we do:

  • Quality – We use premium tonewoods and hardware to craft consistent, great-sounding instruments you can depend on.
  • Value – By selling directly to you online with no retail markups, our prices are kept fair while maintaining excellent quality.
  • Sustainability – From locally-sourced woods to low-VOC finishes, we aim to make guitars sustainably and ethically.
  • Service – We stand behind our instruments with exceptional customer service and lifetime support. Your satisfaction is our top priority.
  • Community – Music has the power to bring people together. We foster a community united by the love of guitar.

Our Guitars

Each Fojill Guitar® instrument is proudly hand-crafted start-to-finish in our Nashville workshop. While we’ve kept our lineup streamlined, you’ll find a diverse range of classic shapes with versatile electronics to suit all genres and playing styles.

Our current lineup includes:

  • Stratocaster-style guitars – Iconic tonewood combinations like alder or ash with maple necks and fingerboards. SSS or HSS pickup configurations.
  • Telecaster-style guitars – Ash or mahogany bodies with maple necks give that twangy, articulate tone. Available in SSS or HSH pickup configs.
  • Les Paul-style guitars – Mahogany bodies and maple tops produce a warm, rounded tone. HH pickup setups for rock and metal styles.
  • SG-style guitars – Mahogany bodies and necks make these light yet sustain-rich instruments ideal for lead playing.
  • Jazzmaster-style guitars – Offset waists and unique circuitry give these guitars a bright, jangly voice perfect for indie rock.
  • Precision Bass – The iconic P-Bass tone of our alder and maple instruments will hold down any mix.
  • Jazz Bass – Our take on the versatile J-Bass covers anything from Motown to fusion with ease.

We use high-quality hardware including locking tuners, premium pots and switches, and name-brand pickups from trusted manufacturers. Combined with our meticulous attention to setup and finishing, you’re guaranteed an inspiring, gig-ready guitar fresh out of the box.

Meet The Team

Fojill Guitars® is made up of dedicated luthiers, musicians and gear geeks united by a passion for making great instruments. Here are a few of the folks who make the magic happen:

Will S. (Founder & Head Luthier)

Will has been crafting guitars for over 40 years, starting as an apprentice in a small guitar repair shop. After honing his skills repairing and building guitars, he moved into management roles at various guitar factories.

Frustrated by the focus on maximizing profits over quality, Will decided to found Fojill Guitars®. Here he’s free to take the time necessary to build excellent guitars without cutting corners. When he’s not in the workshop, you can find Will playing drums with his blues rock trio.

Erin J. (Operations Manager)

Erin keeps the Fojill team running smoothly, overseeing the workshop production schedule, coordinating orders and shipments, managing supplies inventory and more. She honed her ops skills managing supply chains in the automotive and tech sectors before bringing her passion for guitars to Fojill. She also fronts an all-female Pearl Jam tribute band in her spare time.

Ryan S. (Master Luthier)

Ryan oversees quality control and lends his expertise in guitar electronics to fine-tune our instruments. He cut his teeth repairing and modifying guitars before studying lutherie formally. His custom wiring harness techniques give Fojill guitars their noise-free operation and dialed-in tone. When not soldering, Ryan is an avid collector of vintage effects pedals.

Monica V. (Digital Marketing Strategist)

Monica handles Fojill’s digital marketing initiatives, SEO, social media and more. Before joining Fojill, she led marketing at an e-commerce startup. Monica is also a singer-songwriter and uses her familiarity with stage performance and recording to inform Fojill’s content and brand strategy.

These are just a few members of our outstanding team driven by a shared passion for building great instruments. Ready to join the crew? We’re always looking for talented, guitar-obsessed folks to help spread the joy of Fojill Guitars®!

So there you have it – the Fojill Guitars® origin story in a nutshell. Thanks for taking the time to learn about our journey! We can’t wait for you to experience the quality, value and joy of playing your own Fojill. Questions? Just reach out anytime. For now, we’ll leave you with a few words from our founder Will:

“At Fojill Guitars, every instrument we make is a labor of love. If I wouldn’t play it onstage myself, it doesn’t go out our door. We stand behind our guitars for life because we build them to last. Here’s to making great music!”
